Student Pages | Weeks 1 & 2 |Weeks 3 & 4 | Weeks 5 & 6| Weeks 9 & 10

Here is your Fun Friday site.
Today you will have time to work on the layout for Project 3.

Using Databases
Vermont Online Library is a system with many databases. We will look at only one of them today. The easiest way to get to Vermont Online Library is from the TVMHS Library website and then click on the image for Vermont Online Library. I will show you Student Resources. But you are welcome to view and use any of the databases. When you open a database click on the top of the page and log into your Google account. Anything you decide you might want to use can be directly saved in a folder in your Drive. Each article, video, or recording is saved with the full MLA Citation. You will need these citations for Project 3.

Please finish up your project 2 and then start in on project 3.

You will have today to complete your video and upload it to the server. Project 2 pages should have a footer and a works cited page. Please add them in today. Your project 2 pages should be finished today.

Project 3

Your final project will show case what you have learned in this class. You will choose a technology that interests you and create a site about it. Click here for all the details.

Today you will create a short video and embed it on one of your web pages. Also, remember to include a works cited page.

Here is the code you will need.
<video witdth="320" height="240" controls> <source src="put your video here" type="video/mp4"> Your browser does not support the video tag.

Copyright Review

Fair Use: When you transform original content, repurpose it, and add value to it in your own remix, you may be able to claim the use fair. Fair Use Fundamentals

But you might want to find out where that picture came from. You can drag the picture into the search bar of Google's Search by Image. Give it a try.

A Creative Commons license is used when an author wants to give people the right to share, use, and build upon a work that they have created. CC provides an author flexibility (for example, they might choose to allow only non-commercial uses of their own work) and protects the people who use or redistribute an author's work from concerns of copyright infringement as long as they abide by the conditions that are specified in the license by which the author distributes the work.

Roll Over Images

You will create one roll over on the assignment page. And then work on Project 2.

You will need 2 images that are the same size. You can resize images in photohop or even create a message that is displayed instead of another image. You should save your images by their name and then 1 and 2 so that it is easier when you are adding them into the code. For example I named my pictures zombie1.jpg and zombie2.jpg

The code that you need to use do this:
<img src="your image 1" onmouseover="this.src='your image 2'" onmouseout="this.src='image1'" />

You will have this time to work on Project 2.
